Cara Jocelyn Delevingne wasn’t always the woman with the famous eyebrows or the Model of the Year. She started out as a child who grew up in Belgravia, London with ADHD and dyspraxia who found it difficult to take exams in school. It was quite challenging for her to attend school and so she developed a fear of school as she said in an interview with Ladyfirst. “I think the problem for me was I didn’t discover the incredible power of books until I was older. Just because books, to me, felt like school. And I had such a fear of school and exams because I wasn’t particularly good at them – my brain didn’t work in that way.” She recently discovered this “power” of the written word recently and was reportedly writing creatively on a regular basis. She even got published for her Young Adult fiction book titled “Mirror Mirror” back in 2017.
Because of her fear of school, Cara Delevingne dropped out of her acting school and followed the model career path of an older sister, Poppy. This is where she blossomed. The fashion world absolutely adores her and they still do. She was able to sign with Storm Model Management back in 2009 and soon after, she was on a quick climb to the top of the fashion world. She modeled for Vogue, Burberry, Chanel, Rag and Bone, Thakoon, Fendi, Moschino, and several other big names. She was able to walk the runways of yearly fashion weeks and was even named the “crush of the season” in New York. She claimed the ultimate award of “Model of the Year” for 2012 and 2014.
Unfortunately, due to the stress of working in fashion, she developed a skin disease and decided to part ways with her modeling agency in 2015. She moved on and was able to get into a serious acting career that was prompted by her 2012 film debut in a small role for the movie “Anna Karenina”. She played the role of the confident Princess Sorokina with her long brown hair mostly in elegant upstyle with loose curly tendrils. She followed this with Kids in Love, London Fields, and Paper Towns which made people fall in love with her girl-next-door charm and long straight hair.
She then went on to play a huge role in Suicide Squad as the sexy Enchantress which is the main villain of the movie. She showcased a stellar acting performance in this movie along with her long dark hair that turns jet black when she transforms into the Enchantress. She held her own among giants such as Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto.
Recently, she had a big TV breaking role in the fantasy series “Carnival Row” alongside fellow English actor Orlando Bloom. Cara Delevingne plays Vignette, a faerie exiled from her homeland with a short black pixie hairstyle often seen with a headband for a lovely effect to match her faerie wings.
Cara Delevingne’s star is still on the rise and there is still a bright future for this English actress and singer. For now, we sit in anticipation of how much more of a star she’ll become while we look back at her different hairstyles over the years.
