Hairstyle Video: Twistbacks into Side Ponytail

I thought I had posted a picture of this cute hairstyle tutorial on the blog, but apparently I have not… so this is new to you!!! I really love hairstyles like this because they are simply beautiful, take very little time in the mornings to complete, yet look like you spent 30 minutes doing it!

You can accessorize the do if you want, but I think this one looks even better without a flower or bow!

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, one hair elastic, hairspray {if desired}

Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes

Skill Level: Medium

Funny thing, I went to Costco with my twins yesterday and a lady who saw me in the store came running out as I was loading my groceries into the car and asked me, “I do not want to sound like a stalker, but… how did you do your daughter’s hair like that?“, commenting on how beautiful this hairstyle was.

Unfortunately I had not yet printed off my new blog cards, so I explained to her that I was one of those crazy “hairbloggers” out there and that I had just filmed a tutorial for this hairstyle that morning. She couldn’t wait to see it and asked me to write down the blog address, so I did.

Here’s to ladies like her who are not afraid to compliment!!! I hope you will get many too!

Step-By-Step Instructions:

 Working on wet hair, comb the hair until smooth. Part the hair on the side you prefer. Starting on the same side as the part, pick up a small section. Divide the hair into two sections and begin to twist.  Add hair along the bottom as you twist.  (see technique in video.) Make sure to smooth pieces as you go. Keep twisting and picking up hair as you go around the head. When you reach the other side of the head (just past the center back) stop adding hair and twist your pieces of hair and have your DD hold. Pick a small piece of hair on the other front side of the head and begin the same process on that side. Twist until you have picked up all of the hair and both twists are finished. Holding the two twists together, secure with an elastic. You can either leave this as a side ponytail or finish with a messy bun.  (see technique in video) Spritz with hairspray if desired!

Happy Hairdoing!
