Messy Bun Videos | St. Patrick’s Day Hairstyles

Here’s another teen St. Patrick’s Day hairstyle. This style is subtle and more likely to be worn by your teenagers, but it also looks great on younger kids too!

Leprechauns always make messes, don’t they? This messy bun is a great hairstyle for this day. I have had MANY requests for messy bun help so this video post also helps! I really couldn’t think of a great way to do pictures that would thoroughly explain the messy bun, because it really is messy, so instead I did a quick video tutorial.

Each video is under 2 minutes so don’t panic–they are short. I personally have two ways I do messy buns. I know there are lots of varieties in doing messy buns, but these two happen to be both easy and my favs.

To see your own photo recreations of this style featured in our CGH App, feel free to tag your photos on IG with: #CGHMessyBun

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, water bottle,  2 hair bands, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 2-3 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

In the first video I started with wet hair to do the bun. In the second I started with dry hair. It really doesn’t matter, but I wanted you to see the differences in how the buns look.

To make both of these do’s look St. Patrick’s Day-friendly, add bobby pins with green ribbons tied on…

Add them by just sticking them here and there into the bun.
