How to Fishtail French Braid | Long Hairstyles

* Note from Mindy: This whole month of November, a month in which we recognize how thankful and truly blessed we are, we here at CGH are focused on giving back.  Our collaborative focus with many amazing mommy bloggers is on scholarships for single moms, and we are well on our way to earning a second full-ride scholarship for deserving moms!  {Can you beleive it??? We have already raised enough money to fully fund one single mom’s education!} You can donate too, if you can, by clicking the “Give” button on the pink banner titled “Megan’s Story” in my right sidebar, or by clicking the link above.  If you unable to give, please at least “Share” the link.  From all of us at CGH, here is a special thanks to you all for helping make a difference!

We have so many variations of braids on this site, but we really have not done a simple Fishtail French Braid hairstyle tutorial. {This can also be called the Herringbone French Braid.}

By popular request, we filmed one for you!

Now, Fishtail Braids are perhaps the most difficult hairstyles to complete, not because the stranding is hard {because it really isn’t}, but because it can take a long time to do it. The smaller the strands you use, the absolute better the braid looks… but it can take you forever!

This braid is a beautiful hairstyle, and although many people may know how to fishtail braid a ponytail… not many know how to incorporate the French braiding aspect of it to the head itself.

Here I show you how to do this entire hairstyle in roughly 7 minutes, but you may choose to use larger and looser strands, which is hugely popular today with teens and models, or use smaller strands which makes the braid look so crisp and clean.

Enjoy!

Items Needed: Brush, 1 hair band, spray bottle and hairspray {if desired}.
